Changelog

  • broken: “name” field: we now maintain capitalization and special characters such as ampersands in the “name” field; so, for example, a POI whose “name” was formerly “at and t park” will now be “AT&T Park”.
  • broken: Added a safegraph_place_class field which has 4 possible values: ENCLOSED - indicates that the POI is inside a larger structure that also has other POI. Ex: Cheesecake Factory inside Westfield Mall ENCLOSURE - indicates that the POI is a large structure with several POI inside. Ex. Westfield Mall VICINITY - indicates that the POI is an outdoor region with many related POI. Ex. Disneyland. Also includes outdoor shopping centers. STANDARD - indicates a standard POI. Ex. Walmart
  • added: SafeGraph Places now includes 5000+ outdoor shopping centers
  • added: Expanded parent_safegraph_place_id concept to outdoor shopping centers, theme parks, hotels, airports, stadiums
  • added: More POI now associated with a building polygon
  • fixed: Improvements to place deduplication
