We don't mind the dog days of summer at all! And no, it's not because we're on vacation.
We're just here, adding more and more POI!

Places Highlights
- +645K new POIs across the globe
- +440 new brands across 102 countries 🌐
- +166K new global EV Charging Stations (ex US) 🔌
- Continued Coverage Improvements in the US 🇺🇸
SafeGraph evaluates the quality and completeness of our US POI data on an ongoing basis using two key metrics:
- Coverage Rate: The percentage of real and open SafeGraph POIs compared to the industry standard. In the US, this is Google.
- Real Open Rate: The percent of SafeGraph POIs we claim to be real and currently open compared to those that actually are real and open.
Each month, we randomly select two zip codes as a method of sampling one urban and one more rural area. This month we're looking at:
- 64111: Kansas City, MO - Representative of Urban
- 24450: Lexington, VA - Representative of Rural

SafeGraph is delivering more POI each month in countries around the world. This month SG Places has a grand total of 49,844,816, including POI with or without geometry, closed POI and parking lots. This is a net increase of 645,545 places from last month, including:

Brand Openings and Closings
- We rely on POI metadata to track store openings and closings, and we are especially interested in understanding open/close dates for branded POIs. It can take more than a month to infer open/close dates, so we report brand open/close metrics on a one month delay.
- In this release, we flagged 1,973 brands with at least one store closure in June 2023 and 2,169 brands with at least one store opening in June 2023:

store_id Corrections
- With this release, we corrected the
store_idvalues for a few retail brands, including:- Buffalo Wild Wings (SG_BRAND_f5c3315bd88c63a7a421a97165d8b108)

- Waffle House (SG_BRAND_7d55f8ddf947e2b4446a8240c916ae25)
Drops ⬇️
- We are ingesting many sources and due to source changes and processing changes, Placekeys do drop over time. In this release, we dropped 226,908 Placekeys (46,588 branded and 180,320 non-branded).
