Enhancements

SafeGraph is delivering more POI each month in countries around the world. This month SG Places has a grand total of 41,383,961, including POI with or without geometry, closed POI and parking lots.
This is a net increase of 1,205,785 places from last month, including:

Brand Openings and Closings

• We rely on POI metadata to track store openings and closings, and we are especially interested in understanding open/close dates for branded POIs. It can take more than a month to infer open/close dates, so we report brand open/close metrics on a one month delay.
• In this release, we flagged 1,788 brands with at least one store closure in October 2022 and 2,024 brands with at least one store opening in October 2022:

The POI we've added this month span a wide range of categories, including the following additions:

Drops ⬇️

• We are ingesting many sources and due to source changes and processing changes, Placekeys do drop over time. In this release, we dropped 617,257 Placekeys (29,437 branded and 587,820 non-branded).

This month we added a significant number of polygons for POI in over 40 countries across the Asia Pacific region, including:

Note: SafeGraph Patterns, Weekly Patterns, and Neighborhood Patterns are legacy products that will no longer be available at the start of 2023.

Enhancements - Patterns

• In last month's delivery, SG Monthly Patterns had 6,017,069 POIs (US only). This month, SG Monthly Patterns has 5,705,663 POIs (net -311,406).

• Last month, SG Monthly Patterns had 1,025,057,994 visits from 17,711,448 visitors. This month, SG Monthly Patterns has 938,095,627 visits from 18,686,757 visitors (delta -86,962,367 visits, +975,309 visitors).

• Our Neighborhood Patterns product, provides more generalized foot traffic flows across census block groups. In the US we have 2,070,819,556 raw stops (-166,809,323 from last month). In CA we have 43,835,027 raw stops (-2,610,163 from last month).
