**2022 NAICS Codes Columns **

We now support 3 new columns that reflect the 2022 NAICS codes: naics_code_2022 , top_category_2022 , andsub_category_2022. Our current columns naics_code, top_category, and sub_category are all based on 2017 NAICS and will remain the same. Contact your Account Manager if you'd like to add the new 2022 columns!

Improved Auto Network Relationships

We revamped how we handle auto shops' association with networks. We removed 4 brands (Pronto Auto Parts, [Pronto] Auto Pride, Federated Auto Parts, and Federated Car Care Center) and instead added these values as category tags, which better reflects the relationship of shops with these networks. Pronto Network, Federated Auto Care, and TechNet category_tag values are now available to distinguish POI that are part of these networks. 🚗

Places Growth

This month, SG Places totals 76,042,222 POIs (including POIs with/without geometry, closed POIs, and parking lots) - a net increase of 423,684. The increase comes from our source updates, new brands, and targeted coverage work. Country standouts & top NAICS gains:

This month, we added a grand total of 104 brands across 99 countries including:

Brand Openings and Closings

• We rely on POI metadata to track store openings and closings, and we are especially interested in understanding open/close dates for branded POIs. It can take more than a month to infer open/close dates, so we report brand open/close metrics on a one month delay.
• In this release, we flagged 312 brands with at least one store closure in February 2026 and 1642 brands with at least one store opening in February 2026. Learn more about our open/close columns here.

Drops ⬇️

• We are ingesting many sources and due to source changes and processing changes, Placekeys do drop over time. In this release, we dropped 628,902 Placekeys (243,512 branded and 385,387 non-branded).
