Motorcycle & ATV Dealer Merge Improvements

We improved our merge logic for Motorcycle & ATV Dealers (NAICS 441228) so multi-brand dealerships are now represented more accurately as a single POI with all associated brands attached. Previously, one dealership carrying multiple brands could appear as separate POIs by brand; now those records are consolidated under the dealership’s primary location and name. This update preserves overall branded coverage while reducing duplicate dealership records and bringing this category more in line with how we already model new car dealers. This effort is mostly complete, with a few brands (e.g. Suzuki) remaining for next month. 🏍️

Note: Single-brand dealerships are not affected by this update; the improved merge logic only applies to multi-brand dealer locations.

Continued Gas Station & C-store Improvements

Following last month’s US improvements to gas station and convenience store geometry and site modeling, we’ve begun extending that work to Canada. The effort is now about 60% complete and will continue through the coming month, with additional US/CA improvements still to come in next month’s release. 🇨🇦⛽

Brand Openings and Closings

• We rely on POI metadata to track store openings and closings, and we are especially interested in understanding open/close dates for branded POIs. It can take more than a month to infer open/close dates, so we report brand open/close metrics on a one month delay.
• In this release, we flagged 1,927 brands with at least one store closure in March 2026 and 2,093 brands with at least one store opening in March 2026. Learn more about our open/close columns here.

Drops ⬇️

• We are ingesting many sources and due to source changes and processing changes, Placekeys do drop over time. In this release, we dropped **** Placekeys (367,591 branded and 3,205,541 non-branded) due to targeted sourcing improvements.
